Atlanta Carifest

Hi Everyone, I will not be attending today's show as being advertised. The promoters of Atlanta Carifest have caused me to still be at home in Barbados. I just wanted to let everyone know, so you all think I just didn't show up. I am disappointed that I will not be in attendance today and miss the chance to perform for you all. Blessings and love, Alison

WEST PALM SHOW

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Re: Alison Hinds and Palm Beach Jerk Festival by Full a Vibes

On May 25, 2009, Alison Hinds was contracted to perform for the Jerk festival in West Palm, Florida.

Alison and her band arrived in West Palm and stayed at the Marriot expecting to perform at 7pm on May 25th. She was at the Marriot Beach Hotel in her room waiting for the promoter to fulfill their contractual agreement.

The promoter, Damian Tater, was supposed to come to the hotel with her balance of the $$$ due and transportation to the event.

The promoter never showed up with the $$$ and after several calls by her manger to him he said that he could not come because of his onsite obligations and it did not make sense for her to perform since many people were leaving.

She was aware that many of her fans had come out to see her perform at the Jerk Festival despite weather conditions.  When push came to shove, the show’s promoters never came up with the balance due and said that they could not pay her because of the bad weather conditions. To make matters worse, the promoters chose the cowardly way out and have attacked Alison Hinds’ credibility by saying that she was not there.

“I am deeply saddened that I did not have the opportunity to perform for my fans especially to those who stood out in the rain and waited for me. People need to know that I will not be taken advantage in such a way. I will keep everyone posted as to what becomes of this situation.” Alison Hinds

In a recent email to Alison’s manager a reliable source at the event exposes the promoters:

I will definitely get it out there to others.  I did notice that his name is spelled incorrectly, it is Damian Tater.  I just want to make sure that he is fully exposed as to what he has done.

After speaking with you, I spoke to someone who I had met there and he told me that he overheard me fighting for Alison to perform and for the fans.  He heard with his own ears of how they wanted to keep a bigger profit and did not want to let Alison go on.  Alison's name brought out a record attendance for the show. In the pouring rain, people stood until 8:45 waiting for her and the amount of people still filled half of the open field.

She further goes on to say:

What they have done this time is completely out of line, illegal and highly unethical.

Alison Hinds is consider the Queen of Soca Music and is an icon in the music industry.

Even with the bad weather on Memorial Day there was record attendance to the festival.

I assisted back stage as the Entertainment Line Up Co-ordinator and have first hand knowledge of what transpired.
